Fiber Bench is a fiber-craft playground: free charts to print, curated video from real crafters, a tablet-weaving simulator, an alpha bracelet maker, dumb little games, and guides written at the bench. It's the web home of Fiber Bench, the Android pattern app for nine narrow-band and grid crafts — tablet weaving, inkle bands and Baltic pickup, Cavandoli macramé, friendship bracelets, bargello, latch hook, rug tufting, cross-stitch and filet crochet.
A weaving app that hands you a pretty picture and no threading is a drawing app. The app gives real drafts — the four-hole tablet draft with the turning sequence, the inkle threading order, the working order each craft is really worked in. This site keeps its promise in the browser: the Studio's simulator turns the cards, the alpha maker charts names for real working orders, and the free charts carry the counts and the cutting math.
The site is made by Jonathan Capone, who also built the Fiber Bench app, teaches art and technology, and writes about the projects at jonathancapone.com. The app store lives at cosnfx.store, and the beading sibling craft has its own site — Bead Bench's.
Say hi at hello@jonathancapone.com — chart requests and guide corrections are genuinely welcome.
